Experience

Before joining Spigulis & Kukainis, Ricards has gained experience working for several years at Riga City Vidzeme District Court as secretary of court hearings and for a certain time as an assistant judge. During this period Ricards has gained experience in the preparation of court documents, as well as understanding and application of laws in civil matters.
Ricards has also gained experience in working for several years at the State Police Criminal Police Department, where he planned and performed criminal and operational activities in matters related to economic crimes, prepared procedural documents in cases specified in regulatory enactments.

Ricards has also gained experience in working for Luminor Group, where he worked on AML/CFT and sanctions, as well as conducted research on activities and clients relating to the potential risks of money laundering, terrorism financing, local and international sanctions. Ricards has gained experience in the General Court of the European Union, working on legal matters related to European Union law, including competition law and intellectual property rights.

Ricards is primarily involved in competition law cases, conducting a theoretical study of various legal issues, preparing legal opinions and drafts of legal documents, as well as conducting legal study of the legal framework.
