From 2003 to 2008 Arturs worked at a major law firm in Latvia, being active in private and public law, focusing primarily on competition law, real estate transactions and commercial transactions, as well as legal proceedings. Before that Arturs has worked in the public sector - European Integration Office (Latvia) and Assembly of European Regions (France). After establishment of the Law Firm Spīgulis & Kukainis Arturs has provided a full range of legal services to various businesses and provided assistance to such market leaders as television stations, newspapers, manufacturing, transit/shipping companies, pharmacy chains, healthcare institutions, cosmetic, real estate, and construction companies, hotels, IT and telecommunication service providers, and others.
Arturs is the Head of Law Firm Spigulis & Kukainis and has effectively represented clients in civil, arbitration and administrative courts, including outside Latvia (USA, Israel, Germany and other countries). Perseverant and creative legal approach used while handling cases has resulted in judgments, important for client interests, that several times have been recognised as some of the most important judgements at national level.
Arturs has also served as an arbitrator in the Arbitration Court of Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Having detailed knowledge of competition law, Arturs conducted competition compliance seminars for various companies, judges, attorneys at law, and represented clients in many cases before local competition authorities, courts as well as the European Commission. Arturs often provides legal assistance to clients on issues and transactions outside Latvia, such as court proceedings, establishment of companies, acquisition or sale of assets, developing a range of stable and professional counterparties - attorneys at law, notaries, banks, private asset managers, and other persons all over the world in such a way providing full range of services.
Arturs Spigulis has acquired extensive experience in the Latvian port sector, representing clients in relationship with port authorities, court proceedings regarding the right to provide services in ports, issues on environment, disputes of use of port infrastructure and construction, representing clients in Parliament and government of the Republic of Latvia, courts, state institutions and European institutions.
Latvian Collegium of Sworn Advocates – since 2017 Arturs has been a member of Commission for the Applicants' Documents Evaluation of the Latvian Collegium of Sworn Advocates. The Commission evaluates persons applying for the position of sworn advocates or assistants of sworn advocates.
Latvian Hockey Federation – since August 2017 Arturs Spigulis has been appointed as the member of Commission for Transfer of Players of the Latvian Hockey Federation. The Commission evaluates and adopts decision regarding transfer of players between Latvian hockey clubs.
